Update as at 12th May 2021 :

Now that the next stage of easing of restriction has been confirmed, the band will return to rehearsals on Tuesday 18th May. It has been necessary to find a new (interim?) rehearsal space which will be run according to COVID-19 compliant guidelines as issued by Brass Bands England.

Our engagements calendar has also been updated to reflect a limited programme of events through the Summer – with such minimal available practice time our Spring (postponed to July) “flagship” concerts at Taverham Village Hall will now not take place.

Dates for our October and Christmas Taverham concerts are on the list (please mark your diaries!) and ticket arrangements will be published at some time after 21st June, once the next stage of easing has happened and we know what special arrangements (if any) will be necessary (e.g. reduced capacity, contact tracing, etc.)  This will include arrangements for the replacement of any Spring 2020 concert tickets still held as these will not automatically be valid for future concerts.

Update as at 28th March 2021 :

As England starts to move though the various, published, stages of easing of restrictions we have reviewed the latest government guidelines and further, detailed advice from Brass Bands England which all states that rehearsals cannot commence until “17th May at the earliest” and the Band will therefore remain unavailable for engagements until “21st June at the earliest” and in line with further guidance issued as the COVID-19 situation eases.

Update as at 2nd January 2021 :

In light of the ongoing situation the Band management committee has decided, in line with government guidelines, that it is appropriate to continue to take action to protect audience and Band members and all others indirectly connected with the Band.

We managed a handful of rehearsals whilst adhering to the relevant guidelines whilst Norfolk was under Tier 2 restrictions, but the uplift to Tier 4 in late 2020 means that all activity has ceased again, and until any further changes permit.

Our concert programme is being reviewed on a rolling basis – there will be no Taverham Spring concerts in 2021 as rehearsal time will be so limited, if available at all, so dates have been reserved for two Summer concerts instead.

We will of course be monitoring the situation and update as needed.
