We hope you have all been enjoying the glorious weather – our outdoor concerts at Kelling Heath and Eaton Park Bandstand certainly benefited. We were greeted by enthusiastic crowds enjoying the music in the sunshine. Whilst many of the Park audiences plan the their concert visit, others are simply out for a Sunday stroll and are delighted to be greeted by the music.
It is always a pleasure to perform at the bandstands – in Norwich we are fortunate to have some very fine examples. The structure at Mousehold Heath has a history dating back to Victorian times, although the original stand was demolished in 1961.
Norwich’s Chapelfield Gardens features a historic, 127-year-old timber bandstand built in 1899. It replaced an iconic 1876 iron pagoda. The bandstand recently underwent a £315,000 specialist restoration, funded by Historic England, which added accessible ramps, refreshed decking, and restored timberwork.
The construction of Eaton Park began in 1924 to help address post war unemployment – the park was opened by the Prince of Wales ( later Edward Vlll) in 1928.

We are performing at Norwich, Waterloo Park Bandstand from 2pm – 4pm on Sunday 2nd August – bring a deckchair and enjoy a relaxing afternoon !
