The Sir Henry Wood Promenade Concerts enjoy a worldwide reputation for innovation and performing excellence.  Over the course of the two-month season we get the opportunity to listen to world class orchestras, talented soloists, famous conductors and experience newly-commissioned music. Their enduring popularity is reflected in the many requests by local concert organisers for the Band to include these in our programmes, giving the opportunity for some uninhibited community singing and flag waving.

So it was this year on the actual Last Night when we replicated the fun and games in the Royal Albert Hall with a performance to a packed audience in the magnificent Cromer Church.  Then, once again, we were welcomed by the RAF Benevolent Association in Carnegie Rooms Thetford, in conjunction with the excellent Military Wives’ Choir from RAF Honington and the  Thetford Players.

Unfortunately, owing to the severe weather and flooding in the area our planned concert at Blofield Church had to be cancelled – this will be rearranged for Spring 2020. With our Taverham Concerts having just passed we are now looking to the Christmas season!
