Preparations are well under way for the Band’s programme of Spring Concerts leading up to our Victory in Europe Celebration Concert at the Village Hall on 24th & 25th April. For the avoidance of doubt the title refers to the end of the Second World War rather than the UK’s recent departure from the EU, and tickets are selling fast.
Our first outing is to the magnificent Blofield Church, where we will be performing at the second attempt: our concert there last October had to be cancelled because of flash floods which made the country roads (and much of the Southern Bypass) impassable, Then we look forward to our annual visit to the Village Hall in Spixworth, which is always a friendly and popular occasion.
We are sorry to report that after many years’ service Andy and Becky Newman have decided to retire from the Band. We will miss their impressive array of percussion instruments as well as Becky’s vocal accomplishments which were always such a popular feature of many of our concerts. Rule Britannia will never be quite the same!
