The band continued its Autumn programme with a return visit to the Carnegie Rooms in Thetford for a lively and well attended concert in aid of the RAF Association, including ever-popular “Last Night of the Proms” favourites giving the audience the chance to indulge in some vigorous flag-waving and singing.
A strong contingent from the band attended the annual Brass Training Day at the Hewett School, Norwich. Each year the East Anglian Brass Bands Association invites members from a leading National band, and this year we were fortunate to benefit from the experience and expertise of some of the very best: members of both the Brighouse & Rastrick and Fodens Bands. The day is open to all local bands and offers the opportunity to learn at first hand from top professional players. It is an annual event which the band has always been keen to support and this year was no exception.
Taverham Band Autumn Concerts

Our next concerts at Taverham Village Hall will be held on Fri/Sat 16th & 17th October when we shall be playing a fantastic range of music including a tribute to Elvis who would be celebrating his 80th birthday this year and also to two iconic figures lost to the world of music in 2015, namely James Last and the film composer James Horner. Additionally we shall be performing a concert at St Edmunds Church, Taverham on Wednesday 11th November at 7.30pm as a special Armistice Concert to raise funds for ‘Help For Heroes’. Prices: Adult £7.00 and Child £3.00 – Doors Open 7.00pm
Included in the concert will music associated with both World Wars and also a special collection of First World War songs, published free of charge for Bands, with the challenge across the world for as many bands as possible to perform this piece on 11th November.
