The Band kicked off its 2015 Concert programme in fine style at the Village Hall with a lively and varied programme ranging from traditional marches and some old favourites to new pieces making their first appearance. The first half concluded with an energetic and noisy rendering of the Armenian Fire Dance; and after the interval Ian surrendered his conductor’s baton for a cornet solo executed with panache. As usual the Hall was full and the audience enthusiastic.

Finally, the Band was sorry to hear of the passing of Vice-President Cecil Horn just months away from his 100th Birthday. Cecil had been unwell for some time and unable to support the Band as much as he wished but for many years gave a great deal of support in the early days of Taverham Band. The Band Committee would also like to welcome Mr Ian Gardiner as a Vice-President of the Band and thank him for his continued support with the training section of the Band.
Ian Colman
Musical Director
