Ian’s Update December 2015

christmas10

As well as taking part as usual in the annual service of Remembrance, the highlight of the Band’s activities in November was a service on 11th in Taverham Church to commemorate the Armistice which ended the Great War.  A packed church enjoyed a varied programme featuring traditional songs as well as more reflective pieces as we remembered those who gave their lives for their country to enable us to retain our freedoms.

Hingham Church is one of the finest in Norfolk, and for many years the Band has welcomed the opportunity to take full advantage of the generous acoustic in a concert performance warmly received by a large and enthusiastic audience.

This month of course  is a busy one for the Band, with numerous engagements in the lead up to Christmas, culminating in our Taverham Christmas concerts both in the village hall and in the church.  Ticket sales are already breaking all records, so book early and avoid disappointment!

On behalf of Taverham Band can I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
