As we hit the heights of Summer we can start to reflect on what has already been a busy time for the band. The season started, typically, in somewhat damp style at Earsham Hall Car Rally.
Here we played to our most expensive audience ever being an Aston Martin and a Lambourgni – they were parked next to the band tent and were in fact the only “audience” for the first damp half of our show. Such is show business!
Hoping for better weather we then played Kelling Heath followed by a concert in the lovely setting of the Bishop of Norwich’s Garden (We did ask him!)
We moved indoors for a fantastic show at Ormiston Victory Academy in June, a concert we shared with some very talented youngsters.
On the social side we held the Bands latest ever “Christmas Party”, enjoying an Italian Feast at Norwich’s Trattoria Rustica. We are always too busy to have our celebration at the more traditional time so we always get together, usually in January. However, this year it was somewhat later!
Staying on the Social front we look forward to celebrating our most senior player’s 87th Birthday when we head for Peter’s famous BBQ in the grounds of Almond Hall!!!
Later this month you can catch the Band at Bawdeswell on Saturday 25th July ( 11am – 2pm) and then at Upton Village Hall on 1st August, 7.30PM.
For a lovely afternoon join us at Chapelfield Bandstand at 3pm on Sunday 9th August.
We hope to see you there…enjoy the summer !
